Martin Leman, born in London in 1934, pursued art studies at Worthing School of Art and The Central School of Arts & Crafts, London. After a career in design and advertising, including lecturing in Graphic Design at Hornsey College of Art, he began his serious painting journey in 1971. His work has been exhibited widely, including at The Portal Gallery in London and galleries internationally. Notably, his cat paintings have inspired over 20 books and gained recognition in the USA and Japan. Martin holds memberships with The Royal Society of British Artists and The Royal Watercolour Society, showcasing his art regularly at prestigious venues like the RA Summer Exhibition, The Mall Galleries, and Bankside Gallery.
